Abstract

In each society, there is a system of government that is governed by various factors that control individuals, through different entities that play a specifc role. The family, frst of all, plays an important role in the initial development of the individual. Secondly, when the person reaches a certain degree of independence at preschool age, they must begin their institutional education through pedagogical and didactic processes, spaces for socialization, and the development of individual skills and competencies for the construction of their identity and autonomy. The school is a complex institution whose main function is to train the student population through a dynamic of relationships, hierarchies, and actions in to moderate behavior through the application of surveillance and punishment as mechanisms of social control, legitimized by society. In this sense, it is said that the school is a means of social control. This premise can be understood from a negative point of view, considering that through said control it is intended that people follow a set of norms and rules with which they submit to the established social system. However, although social control is of the utmost importance for the community to function, a certain number of subjects who have a certain degree of power occupy it to exercise their domination and management over the population and introduce their classist ideology and maintain order social by suppressing the behavior.
