Abstract

The text is a chronicle of a visit to Baja Verapaz, to the municipality of Rabinal, the heart of the Rabinal Achi dance, which explores the origins of the inhabitants of this town and the warlike relations between the Poquom and the Achi peoples. Parallel to this narrative is the religious fervor of Isabel Piux, a cultural guardian and steward of the brotherhood of the Holy Sacrament, characterized by a profound devotion and a blend of original ancestral beliefs along with Christianity.
